Rowley Native Eddie MacDonald Makes Cup Debut

Eddie MacDonald made his NASCAR Sprint Cup debut in Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 301 race at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, NH. MacDonald, driving the No. 32 Ford honoring New England racing legend Stub Fadden, sponsored by Michael Alden, made a “respectable run”. MacDonald is no stranger to the NHMS, growing up around racing with his father. Eddie’s main series has been the K&N Pro Series East, where he has made 179 starts, with seven wins and 32 top-five finishes. With the challenge of racing in the caliber of a Cup race ahead of him, MacDonald was able to take his past experience driving on the NHMS track out of the equation. NHMS track officials also got behind the support of the local New England driver, offering “Eddie Mac Pack” ticket packages. The humbled MacDonald calls the opportunity to take part in his first Sprint Cup in his own back yard a “dream come true”.
